Wet Felted Bag
Instructor: Heather Schmidtke
Class Time: 1 to 4pm
Students will learn how to make a basic felt purse using wool fibers and a wet felting technique. We will create a felted bag approximately 12"x10".
You will be shown how to use pre-felt for design purposes as well as how to add effects after with needle felting. Your bag design element will be up to you and your vision, from a watercolor effect to an abstract design.
Handle options will be demonstrated and available for purchase if you desire something other than a felted version.
All necessary materials will be provided in the kit. Please bring a sharp pair of scissors for cutting the felt open.
Each student will have a finished piece at the end of class to take home. The finished piece will be damp at the end of class and will need to air out at home to allow the piece to dry.

I am an Indie dyer and small fiber mill owner from Northern Minnesota. I have been working with various firms of fiber since I was 12 and still love it! I started working with raw wool about 10 years ago, first spinning, then felting, now into owning a small flock and opening a small fiber mill! I love to teach others the many ways fiber can be used.
