Fabulous Fair Isle
Instructor: Lori Grady
Class Time: 1 to 5 pm
Fair Isle is a way to express yourself with color and design. This class will give you a start on a few of the basics used to create a Fair Isle garment.
The focus of the class will be on sampling corrugated ribbing, using a steek to create an opening, choosing colors and patterns, cutting the steek, and finishing with ribbing. We will create a swatch of Fair Isle that can be used to help you create a Fair Isle vest or sweater.
If you have a Fair Isle project in mind, bring a picture or pattern to help make sure your questions are answered.

about Lori Grady
I have been knitting sweaters for quite some time, more than 25 years. Fair Isle is one of my favorite knitting methods since I love to work with colors. I started designing my own sweaters and vests, using steeks to create color work that is completely knit in the round. Three of my colorwork sweaters won best of show in the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival Original Design Competition, 2013-2015. Fair Isle knitting shouldn't intimidate knitters, it really is less complicated than it looks. I will teach techniques that can make it an easy process!
